This template, combined with the WaAPI community node, provides a foundation for creating WaAPI automations within your n8n environment.

Get Started in Minutes

Setting up your WaAPI automation is straightforward. Here’s how to get started:

1. Install the WaAPI Community Node

If you haven't already, install the WaAPI community node in your n8n instance. This node enables n8n to communicate with WaAPI.

Find the Node on npm

Please follow the installation instructions provided on the n8n-nodes-waapi package page. You can also typically find and install community nodes by searching for "@waapiapp/n8n-nodes-waapi" directly within your n8n instance's community nodes panel.

2. Import the n8n Template

Next, import our pre-built n8n workflow template. You have two easy ways:

Import from URL: Copy the URL below and use the "Import from URL" option in n8n.
Download JSON & Import: Download the JSON file and use "Import from File" in n8n. Download Template JSON

3. Configure Your Credentials - Crucial Steps!

WaAPI Credentials:

You'll need to add your WaAPI credentials in n8n. Important: Ensure these credentials are then correctly selected or adapted within each WaAPI action node inside the imported workflow.

OpenAI (or other AI Model) Credentials:

Similarly, add your OpenAI credentials in n8n. These will then need to be set in the AI agent model node within the workflow. You can also adapt the workflow to use a different AI model if you prefer.

4. Set Up Your Webhook

For WaAPI to send events to your n8n workflow, configure a Webhook.

After importing the template, n8n provides a Webhook URL for the trigger node. Add this Webhook URL to your WaAPI instance settings.
